Abstract: In this study, the ArcA gene mRNA levels of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae serotype 1 stimulated in anaerobic condition were measured by mimicking the anaerobic condition. Transcription levels of ArcA gene in anaerobic condition were determined by semi-quantification RT-PCR, and the housekeeping gene recF was used as an internal standard. The transcription level of ArcA was very low in the standard condition, but it was highly transcripted in anaerobic. ArcA might be a potential virulence gene of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, and may play important role in pathogenesis.
