Collection of Clonederived Populations of Trypanosoma evansi Stock YN andDetermination of its Variable Antigenic Types by IFT and ABCELA

Abstract: In order to find out the regularity of antigenic variation, 107 cloned population of Trypanosoma evansi stock YN was inoculated sequentially into 5 New Zealand rabbits during 165 days. Blood was collected from the rabbits at 3-day intervals after infection. Ten clone-derived populations were isolated from each; twenty VATs were determined from the 50 populations with the indirect fluorescent antibody staining technique (IFT) and ABC-enzyme-linked assay (ABC-ELA) and designated as BeTat 1.1, BeTat 1.2,…BeTat 1.20.
