Abstract:

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of Cysteamine hydrochloride on apparent nutrient digestibility, serum biochemical and antioxidant indices of lactation Holstein dairy cows.Forty healthy Holstein dairy cows, similarly in milk yield, days in lactation and parity, were allocated into 5 groups in a randomized complete block design with 8 cows per group.Cows were fed with supplementation of CSH for 0 (control group),15,30,75 and 150 g in the basal diet. The pre-experimental period lasted for 2 weeks, and the experimental period lasted for 8 weeks.Apparent nutrient digestibility, serum biochemical indices, enzyme and antioxidant indices were detected. The results showed as follows:The apparent digestibility of CP,Ca,P,NDF and GE in 15 g group were higher than those in the control group (P>0.05),however,decreased tendency was found in 75 and 150 g groups, and those in the 150 g group were the lowest.Compared to the 150 g group,15 g group significantly increased the GLOB content (P<0.05).The ALT concentration increased in 150 g group compared with the control,15 and 30 g groups (P<0.05).The SOD level decreased with the increasing doses of CSH (0.05<P<0.10).Furthermore,the GSH-PX concentration significantly increased in the 15 g group compared with control group and 150 g group (P<0.05).The MDA level of the 30-150 g groups were significantly higher than that of the 15 g group(P<0.05).Results of the present study indicated that the safe supplemental level of CSH is within 30 g.
