Abstract: The blood samples from Chinese Simmental cattle was collected to extracted genomic DNA and the DNA of the bovine FABGL gene was determined and analyzed by homology cloning approach combined with PCR in this study. Sequence analysis and bioinformatics study showed that this genomic DNA contained 1925 nucleotides and 9 exons. And its base composition shows 90% and 84% identity with the corresponding pig and human, respectively. The SUNbRH panel was employed to determined the precise location of FABGL gene. Statistical analysis revealed that the bovine FABGL gene was mapped to the bovine chromosome (BTA) 23 and was closely linked to a framework marker BM47 at a 2-point LOD score of 31.05.
