Abstract: To study the effects of β-cypermethrin on the testosterone synthesis. Matured kunbai mouse were fed different concerntration of β-cypermethrin for 7 days RT-PCR, Western blot and radioimmunoassay(RIA) were used to analyze the ability of testosterone synthesis. The results were as followed: with the increase of β-cypermethrin concerntration, the weight of testis, the expression of P450scc mRNA ,3β-HSD mRNA and StAR mRNA had no difference between different groups. However, the expression of P450c17 mRNA and the level of StAR protein decreased significantly and the activity of ERK1/2 increased significantly. These results inferred that β- cypermethrine could inhibit the synthesis of testosterone through increasing the activity of ERK1/2 to decrease the activity of P450c17 mRNA and level of StAR Protein
