Abstract: The effect of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)on the production of NO in primary cultures of rat intestinal mucosa microvascular endothelial cells(RIMEC)was investigated . RIMEC weve in culture exposed to the inflammatory cytokine LPS. Stable NO production, which accumulated in the culture medium without LPS in a linear way for 24 h . LPS induced NO production in RIMEC in a time-dependent manner. These data indicate that LPS triggered endothelial cells activation, the production of NO was enhanced.
