Abstract: Six castrated male goats weighing (18.97±1.80)kg were surgically fitted with jugular, hepatic portal, hepatic venous, mesenteric venous and femoral artery catheters in a self-contrast design experiment to study the effects of cysteamine (CS) on blood flow, changes of some hormones flux and absorption and metabolism of carbohydrates and nitrogenous compounds in portal drained viscera(PDV) and liver. Compared with -2d, on 3d, after treating with a single i.v. at the dosage of 50 mg/kgBW CS, blood flows through PDV and liver tissues were increased by 2181%(P<0.01) and 10.21%(P<0.05), respectively. Plasma flows was increased by 23.08%(P<0.05) and 15.05% (P<0.05), respectively. On 6d, blood and plasma flows through PDV and liver tissues were close to that of control. On -2d, 3d and 6d, net liver IGF-I output was 47.57, 67.58(P<0.05)and 44.76 μg/min, respectively. Net liver insulin uptake was 2.32, 3.17 and 2.23 mU/min, net liver glucagon uptake was 1.71, 3.25(P<0.05)and 1.02 ng/min. Results also showed that net acetate and glucose produced in liver, were 12.71% and 50.59%(P<0.05)higher than control, respectively. Net flux of NEFA for PDV was increased by 32.25% and 9.67% than control on 3d and 6d, respectively. Net liver NEFA output on 3d and 6d was increased 4.57 times(P<0.01)and 4.14 times(P<0.01)than control. Net flux of AAN, NH3-N for PDV tissues was increased by 36.36% and 27.23%, while urea-N tended to increase.
